Trivia Tuesday  


Our team name this week 'Pay the Hooker, Avoid the Scandal (Hooker with a Heart of Pesos)' did not win. Our favorite, 'Dick Clark In a Box', got beaten as best team name by 'When the Pope Dies, Is He Fired or Is It a Promotion?'

Where do you do trivia that you come up with such fancy names?

A former trivia teammate runs a weekly trivia game on the Upper East Side in NYC. Some teams use the same names every week, but a lot of them try to think up new puntastic names based on current events. There were about 9 other names based on the Colombian Prostitute thing.

Well, according to the Salvation Army, when you die you're "Promoted to Glory"...

Buuuttt... as I understand it, the Salvation Army are one of the few branches of the Christian Church that the Catholics don't recognise as 'real'.

(My mum's still trying to find out if Lutherins 'count', in case J and I get married!)

I took a course in a Salvation Army space once and they told us we couldn't swear.

Sounds about right. I think they're like a Christian Mafia - my boyfriend's grandparents are both Salvation Army, and they know people everywhere. Going somewhere? We know someone who can look after you!

It's impressive, yet a little creepy.
